The Liberation of Syria; a message of hope to the oppressed

On this historical day, The Cordoba Foundation extends its congratulations and solidarity to the people of Syria for attaining their freedom from the tyrannical Assad rule.

Across six decades, the Assad regime committed heinous crime after heinous crime against its own people, only for its most brutal phase to come across the last 13 years, when Syrians attempted to free themselves from its clutches. Many millions were killed, tortured, displaced and forced to migrate to all corners of the world as a result of the campaign waged by the regime and its forces. Thousands upon thousands chose to risk their lives and those of their children on collapsing boats on the high seas, rather than suffer the torment of the regime.

Today is a great day, not only for Syrians but for all the oppressed around the world. The message of hope cannot be surpassed in how much it elevates the spirits of the downtrodden and strikes fear in the hearts of the oppressors that their end is not only possible, but nigh.

The Cordoba Foundation never wavered in its stand supporting the righteous Syrian revolution from day one in 2011, and shares the joy and jubilation felt across not only Syria, but the entire world.

Now comes the time of hard and diligent work; the reconstruction of a country devastated by decades of corrupt rule and ravaged by internal war, and the reconciliation between all sections of the Syrian people — so that true peace, justice and prosperity become the hallmarks of the new Syria.
